"Only those who risk going to far can possibly find out how far one can go."
My fitness story began in my very first dance class when I was 3 years old. I grew up dancing and that was all I knew. All through high school, I was a part of the dance team. Dancing truly was all I did...I didn't go to the gym and ate anything I wanted (including many late night trips to the fridge for a spoonful of cookie dough) It wasn't until college that I fell in love with everything else associated with fitness. I began taking aerobics classes at the rec, running occasionally, and learning about the basics of nutrition. This craze became contagious, and here 4 years in the making I am passionate about this. I have completed 2 half marathons and one full marathon, and am obsessed with the totally freeing feeling of running. I teaching aerobics classes at the rec and am slowly learn ingredients in healthy receipes.
I would love to sit and tell you I have it all figured out but that would be so far from the truth. It is a process and I often find myself taking one step forward and 2 steps back but I love to learn and grow and see what this so called healthy lifestyle is all about :)
So starting out for any diet or fitness routine the number one step should ALWAYS look at your motivation. Without goals and a set plan it is near impossible to follow through and obtain you ideal fitness level. So my encouragement is to take the time to think through your own personal goals...wether it is to lose weight, get stronger, gain energy, or just feel better! Having a goal and tracking success along the way can really serve to motivate you to get off the couch, put down the potato chips and make choices that will benefit you in so many ways!!
